Cookie and Device Storage Notice
Cookies, local storage, service workers and browser caches can store or access information on your device. Cherry Tree currently uses essential storage and limited optional storage for its app-install features. We do not currently use advertising or visitor-tracking cookies on these pages.
Essential cookies and storage
Essential storage may be used to:
- keep a basket or checkout session active;
- keep a Garden Club member signed in;
- protect forms and payments against misuse;
- remember selections needed to provide a requested service; and
- maintain continuity when moving between pages.
Examples include the PHP session cookie PHPSESSID and the Garden Club sign-in cookie ctgc_app_session. These are needed for security, sign-in, forms, baskets or checkout and cannot be switched off through our website. You can block them in your browser, but those services may stop working.
Optional app-install storage
The Plant Finder install feature uses first-party browser storage only to improve app functionality. It may:
- store
cherryPwaFirstSeenandcherryPwaPageViewsso the install suggestion is not shown immediately; - store
cherryPwaDismissedAtso a dismissed suggestion is not repeatedly shown for 30 days; and - register Cherry Tree’s own service worker and use a browser cache named
cherry-tree-pwa-…to support installation and limited offline access.
This information stays on your device, is not used to identify you, is not shared with advertisers and is not combined with Garden Club or purchase records. You can object and remove this optional storage at any time below. An opt-out preference may remain on your device solely so we can respect your choice.
Checking your optional app-storage choice…
Turning it off removes Cherry Tree’s install-prompt history, unregisters the root Plant Finder service worker and deletes Cherry Tree’s PWA cache on this website origin. Essential login, security, basket and checkout storage is unaffected.
Analytics and advertising
We do not currently use advertising cookies, Meta Pixel, Google Analytics or other non-essential visitor-tracking technologies on the audited public pages. If that changes, we will update this notice and introduce an appropriate consent choice before those technologies are used where required.
Third-party services
Some functions are provided by third parties only when you request them. For example, a hosted payment page may use storage that is strictly necessary for authentication, fraud prevention and payment security. The provider’s own privacy and cookie information applies on its pages.
Managing browser storage
You can also delete cookies, local storage, service workers and cached files through your browser settings. Browser controls are additional to the Cherry Tree choice above; we do not rely on browser settings alone to record an objection.
