Description
Matteuccia struthiopteris, commonly known as the Ostrich Fern, is a large, deciduous fern admired for its tall, feathery fronds that resemble ostrich plumes. It adds architectural form to shaded garden areas and is particularly effective in naturalistic plantings or along streams.
This fern prefers moist, shaded environments and thrives with a moderate growth rate. It is generally hardy and can provide lush green foliage during the growing season, dying back in winter to re-emerge in spring.
