Description
Sambucus nigra 'Black Lace' is a striking deciduous shrub noted for its deeply cut, almost black foliage and late spring cream-white flowers that are softly scented. It thrives best in sunny to partly shaded areas and adds dramatic texture to garden designs.
The shrub develops dark berries later in the season that attract birds, making it a valuable addition to wildlife gardens, although the berries should be handled with care.
